Teachers showing what they are made of at the Inter-house Netball Match

Mini-Netball Report

 Coaches: Mrs. N. Brey

          Miss S. Durey

The mini-netball girls displayed great enthusiasm for the game. There has been tremendous improvement in their netball skills. The girls attended practice sessions religiously, come rain or shine, and at times very heavy downpour.

Their dedication to the game is to be admired. Miss Durey and I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching the girls this season.

 Well done mini-netball Stars!

Cricket U/13

Coaches: Mr. E. Richards

        Ms. Z. Walker

The U/13 Cricket team has improved and the enthusiasm and determination has brought out a competitive atmosphere amongst the boys. Matches against Rosebank and Golden Grove were evenly contested.

The Inter – House Competition proved very competitive and Victoria emerged as the winners. Congratulations

Coaches: Mrs. D. Albertyn

          Mrs. Y. Booysen

During the first term, Mrs. Gill and Miss Durey coached lots of enthusiastic cricket players. The boys were taught how to bowl, field and bat. Players got to be captain, which also gave their morale a boost.

The fourth term held lots of surprises! A few seemed to lose interest, but as soon as we started playing matches against other schools, the numbers increased.

We have played four matches of which we won three. Our team played against Golden Grove, Kenwyn Primary and Bishops. There is plenty of talent especially with the younger players, because the boys played all their matches with confidence and great skill.

Well Done!

Coaches: Mrs. E. Gouws

        Mrs. P. Smit

That ball is definitely not soft when it has to be caught without a mitt, but it can be done as some learners have proven. With a limited stock of mitts our learners have shown tremendous skill regardless.

We as coaches have been witness to some incredible catching, wise decisions on the field by some “wisemen”, excellent batting as well as some exhilarating play which has made for some exciting practice sessions.

Much commitment and sportsmanship has been evident from our learners which is always a pleasure to see.

We look forward to some exciting matches against other schools next year. Watch this space!

Information still outstanding?

Coach: Miss S. Durey

The learners showed a high level of commitment and tennis was good this year. They worked hard to improve their skills and showed perseverance and determination. They particularly enjoyed playing against each other for points!

Ball skills

Coach: Mrs M Snyders

The Grade 1’s and 2’s have been very enthusiastic and keen to improve their ball handling skills.

We have enjoyed practicing different types of throwing and catching techniques as well as using different sporting equipment such as rackets and cricket bats.  Perhaps the most popular sessions were when we played team games where the children learnt about working together and good sportsmanship. All had a lot of fun.
